Doddz

Doddz is a British artist working across physical art, digital systems, film, public space, and augmented reality. His practice explores how new technologies can be used to create moments of connection, emotion, and wonder. Rather than making technology the subject of his work, Doddz treats it as a tool, a contemporary paintbrush used to tell stories and bring people together. His projects often transform invisible or intangible elements, from environmental data to human memories, into experiences that can be seen and shared. This approach has led him to work across immersive installations, interactive artworks, projection mapping, and mixed reality, with a consistent focus on participation rather than passive observation. His practice is ultimately guided by a simple belief: that everyone deserves moments of wonder.

Doddz began his career creating vibrant, community-focused street art while studying graphic design at Staffordshire University. His murals gained significant attention online and in the media before he adopted the name Doddz in 2016. He later joined SocialChain, where he developed his understanding of digital audiences, human behaviour, and storytelling. In 2019, he founded DIME, a creative studio focused on immersive AR experiences, beginning a period of experimentation that brought his physical artworks into digital environments. His work soon expanded into fashion, interactive painting, and smartphone-based AR, leading to collaborations with major global brands including Dior, Nike, and Netflix.

Alongside these collaborations, he has developed numerous commissioned works and exhibited across the United Kingdom, the United States, China, Europe, and the Middle East. Projects such as Pollution Piano translate real-time air-quality data into evolving music, while Moments of Wonder uses AR to extend physical artworks into digital experiences. In House of Light, memories submitted by local residents became glowing virtual elements layered onto a public mural, creating a shared digital monument to the community. His ongoing series Maps of Perception transforms mathematical structures and real-world data into visual compositions.

The World's Smallest Wonder, recently shown at TODA in Dubai, uses live meteorological data to create a responsive rainbow that connects a distant atmospheric event with the viewer's immediate surroundings. In 2024, Doddz exhibited at Phillips and was named the UK's Leading Digital Voice for the Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Committee. Today, he continues to explore the relationship between physical and digital space through interactive public artworks and augmented reality installations.
